In addition to the now omnipresent “‘nilla”– I am now adopting the word “sparkle” as a descriptor for my moods.
I am freely stealing this from South Park’s episode “The List”. In the episode the girls make a list rating the boys in the class on how hot they are. Kyle was at the bottom of the list.
Stan used his friendship with Wendy to discovery why his best friend was last place. His subsequent ‘behind the scenes’ view of the workings of “Girl World” is hilarious. They have a girl list making “congress” where they use an altered Robert’s Rules– one in which they address the group with “If it pleases and sparkles…”.
When they take votes, they ask “Does this sparkle with everyone?” A yes vote is “sunshine”.
You can see the congress of the list scene at the 1:30 mark in the video below.
Well naturally there is corruption afoot in the congress, as they manipulated the list in order to secure free shoes from the boy who was voted ‘hottest’.
My favorite part of the show (minute 6 of the clip) was when Stan and Wendy confront one of the girls about her vote on the list. She goes off on one of those “you can’t handle the truth” type things and tells them to drop it. After the door is shuts in their face, Stan turns to Wendy and deadpans “That didn’t sparkle with her, did it?”
Its 7 bloody degrees here today, my office is cold and a big snowstorm is barreling down on the Twin Cities which will probably effectively screw up my Saturday plans with Kyle.
This does NOT sparkle with me.
