I was back home with mom for thanksgiving. It was our usual and played out according to the normal script.
I drove down on T-giving day (early) and brought some things with me (for the meal and mom’s new kitteh). Traffic was light and I made good time.
I made the meal, but instead of turkey (which neither my mom nor I particularly like) we had lemon-garlic pork roasts. Along with a host of sides (cheesy mustard cauliflower, broccorni casserole, sweet potato surprise). All of which we are for several days.
I also made a cheesecake which turned out pretty darn good- which is also starting to become our norm.
The rest of the weekend was spent watching football, Netflix movies, and the he hallmark channel.
I also got moms house fully decorated for Christmas— which I basically have down to a science now. And I spent a good chunk of time cuddling mom’s new (to her) kitteh. She’s a chonk, but is extremely loving. Loves to cuddle. But she’s also a little escape artist and damn if she didn’t zip out the front door on me. Thank god she stopped and I was able to grab her.
She now has a collar and tag- just in case.
Mom did decently during the visit, although she had a couple foggy episodes. When she first wakes up, she is very logy and can’t make her body move. It’s kind of like if you’ve been in a deep sleep and when you first come out of it and you’re disoriented. It passes, but she gets very agitated and “wants to move NOW” which sometimes isn’t possible until she wakes up more.
Just more of the Parkinsons acting up.
Good to hear you had a nice holiday with your mom.
