As of about 5 days ago, Miss Luna has discovered the magical realm of “under blanket”.
This really is a departure for her because she hates being “confined” in any way. Like, if I try to hug her too long she gets squirmy and then meows plaintively until I let her go. And she never goes in the wool “cat pod” I bought for her.
But suddenly, she’s figured out how to snake up between the sheet and the blanket in order to burrow around. She scoots up from where the blanket hangs over the edge of the bed.
While she has been doing this mostly while I’m in bed reading before lights out, I have seen her do it on her own while I’m on the couch watching tv. she doesn’t nap under there, or spend long amounts of tome. But still, she’s doing it now and with greater frequency.
Now, we did just change foods because of a bladder issue. This new food is supposedly “calming” in case she was feeling environmental stress. Perhaps she’s more relaxed now, therefore more willing to be under the covers?
She’s also been snuggling up to me more. Last night she slept pressed up against my hip/lower back all night. I like waking up and feeling her presence next to me.
Here’s hoping this will open up the avenue for more prolonged cuddle sessions in the future.
