I received a call from the bike repair shop. My bike is nearly ready. There was just a small hiccup with the chain.
I didn’t even think about the chain as being an issue, but the frame that I’m building out was originally meant for multi gears. So the rear dropouts aren’t really long. This means when fitting a chain, if they take out a full link, the rear wheel isn’t far enough into the dropouts. If they leave the link in, too much slop.
So they have to do a half-link. Or a half link full chain (it’s a chain with smaller spacing).
That’s the holdup. I’m so very hopeful that it’s done today; I’m anxious to ride it!!
