Neglect.

I’ve been neglecting my blog.

Mostly I’ve been busy– with mom, with chorus, with band, with trying to find a new job. All that.

I’m driving down to mom’s this weekend (again). I will be picking her up from the assisted care facility and getting her set up in her own home. She’s anxious to be around her own things again. And I’m anxious to get her out of a nursing facility what with the Covid scare. I’ll let you know how it all goes.

My band concert went decently well last Sunday. I had a small solo and did NOT fuck it up tremendously. It could have been better but… hey. I’m not a professional musician.

Chorus is keeping me busy, although I have to wonder for how much longer now that Covid is shutting down all sorts of events and schools and such. At this point I bet our concert will be cancelled– it’s in two weeks.

This also makes me wonder about the GALA choral festival which is planned for July 4th week. WhTa going to happen by then is anyone’s guess. I’m hoping that all these cancellations are out of an abundance of caution, and that by April things kind of get back to normal. But who knows?

In the midst of all this, I had a job interview (via phone) and I now have a face to face follow up interview next week. I’m cautiously optimistic about this, as I really need a new job!

It’s a crazy time, that’s for sure.
