I’ve really ramped up looking for a new job. No interviews or nibbles yet, but I’m trying.
I reviewed and edited and re-reviewed my résumé and have it in decent shape (I think). It’s semi-dense, but one page. Nobody ever really looks at page two. Hell, they barely will skim page ONE!
I have a generic cover letter I can send if required.
And all my info on linked in and glass door is up to date.
At first I was looking for a wholesale change- something new and fulfilling. Now? Now I just want anything that will get me out of where I currently work. So I’ve been throwing applications at any job that even remotely fits what I can do.
At this point I’ll even entertain a pay cut– anything to get out of here. I mean, when coworkers/bosses talk to you and your internal dialogue is “I just wanna smash your face in”, you know it’s time to go.
Here’s hoping I can get out before April.
Will you consider moving to Nashville for an ICME related potential opening?
Yeah thats your first clue it’s time to go.
you’d be surprised on the 2 page thing. And depending on who is hiring, and who if they are using a third party software, computers read the resumes, not HR. Not initially.
do you belong to any professional societies? sometimes they have job openings on their websites.
I’ve tried 1 page, 2 page. I just limit mine to 6 pages. So stuff falls out of course but it does get read. I suppose it’s the field you’re in.
