You can’t have stupid aphorisms…

Ok, I’m gonna gripe for a minute.

I really hate the trite, banal, and often idiotic posts that show up on Facebook that people seem to love to share on their walls. Like:

Stars can’t shine without darkness.

Um, technically stars are shining all the time. That’s what they do. OH, and hey. The sun is a star which shine brightly DURING THE DAY.

Or how about this one:

You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain

Have you NEVER played with a garden hose and spray nozzle? Or a lawn sprinkler? Or seen a rainbow in the mist of a waterfall? Or in a cloud? Or by using a goddamn prism?

It’s always darkest right before the dawn.

Nope, Not really true at all as the sky gets lighter as the sun approaches the horizon.

Money can’t buy happiness.

Really? Tell that to the poor kids who just want to go to Disney World, or a people that can’t afford expensive medical treatment.

These kind of expressions drive me crazy. Do you have any others that drive you nuts when you hear them? If so, share!
