So I just saw that another “most bike friendly cities” ranking came out and it was shared on Facebook. Evidently this survey is one of the better ones.
This particular survey looked at 122 larger sized urban areas (600k+)around the world and ranked them for bike friendliness, accessibility, infrastructure, use, etc. It’s called the “Copenhagendaazenizer” or some such:
Naturally Copenhagen and Amsterdam were at the top– as were several other of the expected European cities. Then some surprises like Buenos Aires and Paris. And then:
The only US city in the top 20 and highest ranked North American city (edging out Montreal).
This is why I like biking here and have become “one of those people”. Minneapolis just makes it easy to do– easier than driving. And there is a certain cool caché to biking in the city too.
