My new carpet came!

On Friday I had a delivery waiting at my door. The Persian rug for my dining room had arrived.

And I am pleased.

The table really did need something to ground and define the space. And although you can’t see it here, it ties in with the red and black granite countertops.  Plus it sort of helps the red accents around my place pop a bit.

And it also helps my space flow into my living room:

The rugs are similar as they are both Persian designs and not “oriental”.  And the deep red colors really are similar for both (sort of depends on lighting and the nap of the rug).

Anyway, I like it and everything just sort of worked out (color, size, pattern, and price).

A nice rug under the table is perfect for defining the space. In our new apartment, the rug we use for this purpose is not what we would have wanted, but we could not find what we wanted in a size that would work. Our is okay, but …

    Congratulations on your acquisition!

No Persian rugs for me, thanks. I would much rather wash floors than vacuum (and steam clean) rugs.

I think you’re ready to be in some sort of interior design magazine! Looks great!

  4. I love your place! BTW – we have not seen miss phoebe lately…
