Now that drum corps is finally done, it means that I can jump into my fall activities– namely chorus and band.
God, I sound like I’m back in high school! Who do you have for first period English?
Anyway, chorus started last week (so I got almost a 24 hour break with no commitments), and band starts tonight. In concert band I play first trombone and am kind of the default section leader. And in the gay chorus, I was just named the section leader of the Bass section.
Yaaaaas! Moar power!!
In addition to normal band concerts, I may see if I can’t get into more musical composition and arrangement. Possibly for brass choir.
Then in gay chorus land, this is the year of the GALA– a festival every 4 years in the making where choirs gather in a designated city and sing for each other. This coming spring the Gala is in Denver, and the Minneapolis chorus is one of the select few who will be performing a special concert. What we will be singing is the premier of a commissioned work based on the gay novel “Two Boys Kissing”.
So, lots of activity on the docket.
Looking out, it’s almost daunting. Especially given the fact that I know that Minnesota Brass will hound me to return next year for their 70th anniversary season.
Now, if only I could find time to go on a date.
(sings) mystery date, are you ready for your mystery date, don’t be late, open the door for…your…mystery date!
What Anne Marie said…..;-)
All these rehearsals should provide you with lots of potential daters!
