I need some time at an Ocean. In the sun. With a drink.
And maybe some naked menz nearby.
My January has kind of been busy so far. The promotion is keeping me hopping at work- especially since my coworker who had the heat attack is still out. So I’m still doing his job, my old job, and parts of my new job.
Plus we had our yearly audit at work– which went decently, although we have 6 “findings” to address.
Oh. And did I tell you that evidently the quality audit crap for all three of our facilities will be part of my new responsibilities? Yeah. Thanks for pawning that one off, boss.
Which is why I was in Middletown OHio on Thursday/Friday of last week. Now, Middletown certainly isn’t the worst place on earth– but you’re close enough to smell it when you’re there.
And I’m in the process of trying to backfill my old position, so I’m getting résumés for review. Nothing outstanding so far. I mean, when someone changes jobs yearly for the past 15 years, that’s a red flag. Right?
Oh. And then there’s the choir, which I am quite enjoying. The Harvey Milk piece is terrific, but really challenging. I’m not sure what the composer was smoking when he wrote the Bass parts. They don’t follow any conventional part writing rules. At all.
I’m still doing concert band too, but playing Bass trombone this concert series because our normal bass player is a snowbird and in Arizona now.
So yeah. Kind of a busy start to the year.
P.S. Some good news though. My dad had his follow up PETscan a week ago and it was clear! So it looks like the surgery and the chemo have done their jobs for the time being. Naturally he’s quite relieved and now planning a trip to Florida for a couple weeks of R&R.
At least he’s getting some ocean time in.
