I don’t think I have ever been in temperatures this cold. Not even as a child when there was always more snow and colder temperatures and steeper hills and harder hardships.
You know how it is.
Although according to the weather folks, it hasn’t been this cold since 1912. It’s gratifying to know they had global warming back then, too.
The official temperature in the Twin Cities this morning was -21F (-29C). My car showed this:
The bad thing is that it’s really windy too. Like 20mph windy. Which gives us wind chills at -50 or so.
The instant I stepped outside, my face hurt. Like it was going to crack off. It was the kind of cold that just cuts right through your clothes, no matter how many layers you have on.
And yes, naturally I had to come to work today. My office is freezing and i have my space heater going full-blast. The cold pouring off the window at my back is chilling me.
Here’s what the afternoon looks like:
At least it warms up to -15F. I just hope my car starts when it comes time to go home.
