Recently I saw a meme of sorts where people answered what you do to counteract certain things (feeling sick, mad, etc).
Which cued up this little gem from my past:
I’m thankfully not really a bored/blue snacker. My problem is that if I’m a bit hungry I’ll eat something– but not know when to quit.
The meme was “What Makes You Feel Better When…”
You are sick:
Nothing. I’m a whiny baby when I feel crappy. Mostly I just curl up on the couch, watch bad movies, and drink coke or ginger ale. I will say that “Romancing the Stone” is one of my go-to sick movies though.
You are in a bad mood:
I try to get outside for some exercise when its nice (walk, bike). Or I go to the gym to get some endorphins pumping.
You are alone:
I read, listen to music, or practice my horn/piano, etc. Sometimes I turn on music and dance around. And sometimes going to a coffee shop and just being around others is ok.
You are sad:
The best cure for this is to push down to an ugly cry, and get it all out. Like by watching “The Color Purple” or some equally sad and/or emotionally manipulative movie. It’s amazing how much better you feel after letting it all out.
You are angry/mad:
Once again– exercise. I like to beat it out of my body with a good workout.
You are frustrated/tense:
When I feel this way, it’s generally because I feel like things are out of control with my life. Too busy, too many things piling up, etc. So I will generally meditate a bit (breath focus). And I will clean. Cleaning lets me focus on small things I can control and fix– and once I accomplish some small amount of order, I can tackle the larger issues.
You are horny:
Well, no secret here. While jacking off is fine, it’s so much nicer to have someone do it for you. Which is why Jesus invented Scruff, Grindr, Growlr, Manhunt, Adam4Adam, and Craigslist.
