Because here comes trouble!
On Thursday, I am flying to Palm Springs for a long weekend of relaxation and fun in the sun.
Why Palm Springs you ask? Well, first of all, we have a local airline that flies there non-stop and it isn’t crazy expensive. Secondly, I’ve never been and I’ve always been intrigued by the location, desert climate, old Hollywood chic, and mid-century modern-ness.
Thirdly, it’s a resort area meant for relaxation and recreation. And a relaxing getaway sounds very appealing.
And lastly, but not leastly, it’s very gay. And very naked.
As the year winds down, it turns out that I had a few more vacation days saved up than I thought. And I have to use them or lose them.
I decided I needed a vacation. Not just a stay-at-home and relax one (like I usually take), but a true escape. Lord knows its been years since I’ve had any sort of excursion that was just for me.
And at least a decade since I had a “gay” excursion.
To take full advantage of the gayness and nakedness that is Palm Springs, I’m staying at a “clothing optional” resort in the Warm Sands area.
This should prove interesting, as I’m not really comfortable with my body and I’m definitely not a nudist.
But I like to push my boundaries now and again.
Of course, I also have a couple ideas for extracurricular activities as I’m not one who can just “sit”. (Yeah yeah, get your minds out of the gutter!)
I think I’ll drive the hour to Joshua Tree national park one day and hike about there. And I may check out the desert palms oasis thingy for hiking as well.
Since I am slated to arrive thursday afternoon, the Palm Canyon area hosts a weekly night out for all their shops, etc which could be cool.
The rest of my time I plan on devoting to reading, taking naps, lounging in the sun, doing a bit of writing, and having sex.
Well, hopefully I’ll get to make sexytimes with a rugged manly type (or two). It IS a gay resort after all.
However I am a tad worried that I’ll end up being shunned the entire tome because I’m not “Southern Cal Pretty” enough.
Anyway– I’m wondering if any of my wonderful readers ever been to Palm Springs? And advice to offer? Tips? Suggestions?
