Da Beard.

So, I still have my beard.

I started growing it as something of a pre drum corps finals hype thing. You know– sort of an “OMG, look at the old guy pulling off this intense marching! Extra points!!!”

And I also grew it because beards are the new goatee black.

It had been a good year since I’d fucked up attempted one, and so I figured it was about time for another.

But now I’m at that “keep or change” point. And I’m looking for guidance.

There are good points for having a beard. I like men with beards (they turn my head). I find them very masculine. They can hide numerous facial flaws. They feel good rubbing on various parts of your anatomy.

And I don’t think I necessarily look bad with a beard. At the very least, I seem to be getting positive attention with it.

There are also less good points to having a beard. Like how when it’s really grey it makes you look very old. And there is a lot of trimming and upkeep involved.

And I’m not convinced that I necessarily look good with a beard. And the attention I’m getting could be from guys wanting a “daddy”.

So, here’s a little poll for y’all so I can get a sense of public opinion on the matter:

Feel free to leave comments/suggestions as always.

    You look feltching.

You don’t appear to have any deformed facial features to hide CB. The beard looks good on you as does the van-dyke. You have a great smile(as I have told you many times) so facial hair neither adds or detracts from your face. Have you ever posted a pic of just a stache? I can’t recall.
As far as gray, you know that’s not a sign of an old man but a player, Bill Clinton changed all of that. I wouldn’t give a damn what color mine turned if it just wouldn’t fall out.

    Love the beard–looks great!

Keep it! I think it complements your face-it seems to really fit you. I have an almost white beard but my hair hasn’t greyed yet. I’m looking forward to when they match as well as yours. And I’m not lookin for a “daddy.” I’m 48, straight, and married, but not afraid to recognize a nice looking man when I see one. Keep the beard!
