Yesterday I received the latest Madge CD in the mail. Being a concert ticket purchaser, I guess I got a free CD.
It almost makes the exorbitant concert ticket price worth it.
After an initial listen, I proclaim that it doesn’t suck.
Although I don’t think it’s as good as Ray of Light or Confessions, it’s still better than many.
And I don’t even have the full album.
(I guess Madge only sent out an 11 track CD with the concert tix, so I’m missing songs like Gang Bang, etc.)
So far, I quite enjoy like 5 tracks on the album, with “I’m Addicted” being my favorite track of all.
The album as a whole is very “dance clubby” and ripe for remixing. Except the ballads which are… Eh.
Then again, I can think of only a couple Madge Ballads that I actually enjoy. She really should just stick to what she’s good at– highly produced, dancy pop tracks.
And there are quite a few of those on MDNA.
I will listen a bit more on my walk at lunch today to form better opinions about the 2nd half of my free CD.
Overall Rating: B
We are going to the concert in St. Paul as well (the Saturday night show). Looking forward to it!
I haven’t heard it yet. Is there a song called ‘gang bang’? Really?
If that “Give Me All Your Luvin'” mess featuring M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj is any indication of what this CD has to offer, I think I’ll pass…
