Yes. I have, as many pointed out yesterday, shaved my goatee. Okay, technically it was a VanDyke, but goatee is easier to type.
Plus Dyke-B-Gon might give some the wrong impression and get me beaten up.
I think I ditched my facial hair sometime right after January 1st. Perhaps the 2nd. It was time.
I like to shave completely and give my face a fresh start once in a while. Plus
I was a bit tired of it: choosing a length, maintaining shape, trimming, etc.
I’ve also lost like 18 lbs, so I don’t have quite as much of a double chin to hide.
But mostly I just really dislike how much older it makes me look because it’s so goddamn grey. And don’t suggest coloring it– I tried that. It looks terrible.
So yeah, I’m sportin’ the clean shaven look. People have already commented that I look years younger (ahem).
And for those who like me better with a VanDyke, I’m sure I’ll get tired of looking at the plainness of my reflection soon enough and facial hair will make a return.
Until then? Call me c-baby.

Ive had mine for so long that it’s now an emotional attachment. And if I shave it off I look WAY too young. Don’t want that at all.

While it’s true you look years younger, you look great either way. If looking younger matters, then grow it back. Otherwise, I think you’ve got two winning looks!

Me likee….my beard is all grey, and it just doesn’t look good on me that way. Liked the scruff look when my hair came in black….

in the future…should you be concerned about a little double chin..a wee bit of liposuction can help with that little issue.

You have a nice shaped face and grreat smile so as a result you do look much younger. But I liked the facial hair. It is good to give your face some sun every now and then. Will you dye your hair now? Trouble with that is, as you know, you’ve got to keep it up to keep people guessing. in addition, you look good with or without glasses. Two poeple I’ve known that has had lasik now wear glasses???????
You look younger and it’s a great [and easy] way to stop buying those lenses. The glasses give your face more character. [That doesn’t mean that without you would have no character, I hope you get my drift]
