First off- Notes of the musical kind.
Me really likey the drum corps thing!
I know it makes me a full-on nerd and a “band geek” or worse– a band FAG.
But I don’t care. Tra la la fuck you.
Even though the marching is still a challenge (I am getting nitpicked on everything) it is still fun.
But even FUNNER is the music!
Last night we got in a big arc in the gym and did full out chorale warmups with the whole corps (so loud!)
And then did a run through of the opener for the drum line and instructors.
We got applause.
So much fun! I so completely dig playing balls-out loud! It is what brass players live for.
Secondly– notes to an inconsiderate neighbor.
My apartment building is directly across from a parking garage. The garage is only mesh enclosed, so it is fairly open.
This means that if a car alarm goes off, you can hear it pretty well…
Even inside my building.
Like in my bedroom.
Which faces said parking garage.
I’ve noticed that in times of colder weather (temps below 15F) that one particular vehicle’s alarm starts going off.
One alarm cycle. Every 10 minutes or so.
All night long.
I blogged about this before.
Well, unfortunately it’s been cold this week and the damn alarm has been doing this fun little trick again.
Today, however, I caught the vehicle in the act. A white Jeep Cherokee.
(Oh I got your number now, bitch!)
So this morning I left a polite little note on their windshield describing the issue and asking them to please fix their car alarm.
This was my first volley.
We’ll see if anything comes of it. Heaven help them if it doesn’t.
I got a tire iron you can use if it doesn’t stop.
Hope you left a heavy brick on top of your note, just so the owner will get the message. You know, with the wind and all.
I like the brick idea!! A lot!
BTW, I named you one of my favorite bloggers: http://jima828.blogspot.com/2010/01/kreativ-award.html
In cold weather, metal contracts and can result in loose connections, etc. So you need to keep the car warm. I suggest setting it on fire.
i support setting it on fire.
Go Marching band! In high school i was in Marching band. Band geeks are so SEXY! Glad you are doing what you like. As for the car. Glad you are taking it one step at a time. Must Suck to hear it at night!
Glad you’re having fun withe the drum corp thingy.
Oh, HELL to the NO! I would be on the phone to the police if that car alarm were going off in the wee hours of the morning. The police can run the plates throug their database, get the address, and pay a little visit to your neighbor with the malfunctioning alarm. WORD!
Tagged you on a meme, if you’re interested.
You’re back in drum corps? Which one?
