I got to thinking last night about my 40th year and how I’ve celebrated.
Technically, I’ve given myself a pretty darn good haul of prezzies!
Here is a short list of things I have bought or done for myself this year:
- Week’s vacation in Paris
- New “manbag” that I got IN Paris
- New car (although to be fair, I was going to trade out the MINI anyway)
- New glasses (kind of essential tho’)
- New trombone case
- Vintage trombone
- Coolest actual birthday prezzie in the universe!
Now, as for the “coolest birthday prezzie in the universe”- y’all will just have to wait and see. I ordered it yesterday after discovering that yes indeed, it WAS available. It’s being shipped from Paris today hopefully!
Squeeeeee! I can’t wait! I will definitely blog about it when I get it.

Turning 40 is ok its dealing with the fact that there are 20 year olds running about who were 0, when you still feel 20 years old inside and you think What the hell happened.
You think 40 is bad? Just wait. And did I miss a photo of the Paris manbag? I need to see that, but perhaps you posted one before I started reading…
