T-minus 2 Days…

Well, it’s nearly upon me. My great Paris adventure.

I’m excited and nervous and giddy with anticipation! And I want it to be Friday already so I can be on my way.

Hell, I want it to be Saturday so I will already be there!

I’m nearly ready to go. My list of things to see is plotted and planned. My guidebook is dog-eared. My laundry is done and my packing begun.

I’m not at “Paris weight” but it’ll have to do, pig. It’ll do.

I’ve also started whitening my teeth. I have cut my hair. Purchased all my host gifts. Xeroxed all my important documents.

I’ve gotten the international calling and 100 text plan all sorted for my phone. Along with adding music and video for entertainment on the plane.

And I’ve arranged caretaking for Phoebe while I’m gone. Replete with printed instructions. And a folder of information.

Of course because the weather is still springlike (i.e. cool and rainy), I have been thrown into a small “clothing crisis”. But I’ll manage, even with my one small suitcase mantra.

Anyway- wish me good trip karma please. I don’t want to get sick again over there and miss out!

  3. bstewart23 says:

Do you guys have “Cold FX” in the U.S. yet? If so, dude, GET SOME, and be sure to gobble that stuff like crazy starting tomorrow. Sure, some people claim it’s snake oil, but my experience with it has been beneficial, especially with the added stress of travel AND the added disease vectors of the thousands of travelers you’ll be encountering in airports.

    Also? Have a blast, you.

  4. Doréus says:

Bon voyage! Tiens-nous au courant! (I thought the karma would work better in French, ya know…)

  5. deadrobot says:

  7. I’m very excited about it myself now. The fact that I have a terrible head cold and hacking cough needn’t put you off. I assure you it isn’t mexican bitch flu and that it will be gone before you get here. Well, that’s the plan.

Please be sure to check out RAIDD BAR (yes, with 2 D’s)…they have go-go boys that shake their wangs at you in shower stalls. I hear that they’re very friendly to Americanos.

  16. The Mutant says:

I can’t même commencent à t’indiquer à quel point j’envieux suis. Ayez un temps merveilleux, et don’t oublient les lutins tandis que vous êtes parti. Nous exigeons les mises à jour régulières.

Did I mention that my French sucks, considering I learnt everything I know from listening to Air albums… Thankfully there is the ever unreliable babelfish, which tells me I just said:

“I can’t even start with to indicate to which point j’ envieux am. Have a marvellous time, and don’t forget the imps while you left. We require the regular updates.”

What I really mean is: I can’t even begin to tell you how envious I am. Have a wonderful time, and don’t forget the little people while you are away. We demand regular updates.

Enjoy yourself, I can’t wait to hear all about it!

  17. Here’s hoping you don’t have the family behind you I that I had on my flight to Australia. 14 hour flight with a crying baby and 5 year old kicking the back of the seat. Have fun!

  18. Dustin says:

Be careful with the data roaming! That usually isn’t part of those plans! I would suggest you turn it off, and only use wifi hotspots for net access. My friend went to Europe and thought as long as she was only on for a few minutes, the bill wouldn’t be so bad. 10 minutes and 300 dollars later . . . .

  19. Rich says:

Have a great time, CB. Take many photos. And bring back many stories. Safe travels.
