Have You Ever…

Here’s a fun game I like to call “Have You Ever…”.  Play it at your next social gathering or when you’re feeling bored or blue.  It’s aces.

Have you ever felt achingly alone while surrounded by people at a party?

Have you ever forced your smiles so much that it felt like your face would crack in half?

Have you ever been worried that someday you would become transparent and people would finally see the ugliness you’ve kept tucked away inside?

Have you ever felt so jealous upon seeing happy couples that your heart caves in on itself and tears prick at the corners of your eyes?

Have you ever stared across an ever-widening gulf between your brain and your heart?

Have you ever wanted to scream yourself inside out because you know you will remain alone for the rest of your life?

Have you ever given yourself over to the lowest bidder online just so that you can have human contact, even if it’s only for 15 minutes?

Have you ever stared in a mirror so long that your face and body becomes a blurry mass of flaws?

Have you ever spent a sleepless night questioning the validity of your lifepath?

Have you ever been so chilled by the grip of despondency that even riotous day of bright sunshine and the fragrances of lilacs, honeysuckle, and russian olive trees fails to warm you?

What?  You haven’t?

Yeah, me neither.

I don’t like to be around Psychics, 1) I don’t believe in them. 2) and if they are real – they will be able to see the real me.

Here’s mine, also great for parties: Have you ever wanted to punch somebody in the face when all they can ever talk about is how much money they have?
