I’m Nearly Through the “J’s”

I have a new iPod.

Yes, I broke down and bought one of the 200+ gig iPods a few weeks ago.

This was pure strategy on my part. You see, my apartment is smallish. And my CD collection takes up a lot of room.

And I almost never actually listen to CDs anymore. When I want to hear one, I burn it digitally and then put it on my main stereo iPod.

Unfortunately my old main iPod only had 30 gig and I maxxed it out.

So, with my 40th birthday money from Mom (thanks mom!) I trotted out to Target and got me a MAXiPod!

I call him “Fat Man 2″– because he’s the biggest thing to hit since Nagasaki.

Yes, I’m going to hell.

And so, with the new iPod I’ve begun the arduous task of burning my entire CD collection into it.

I’m only through the J’s. I’d forgotten how long it takes to burn vast quantities of CD’s.

I can’t wait until I have them all burnt in, backed up, and ipoded. It’ll be a huge step in decluttering.

(The pic shows all the CDs that have been input so far)

  1. Did you TROT? Really? Pictures?

  2. Then sell the CD’s on Amazon. In my experience, you’ll get more $$ on Amazon vs eBay and you can quickly see what others are charging to get a feel for the market price. Don’t worry about competing with those selling for a penny; I’ve sold about a dozen of old C&W CDs for $3-$5 dollars. (That’s more than you’d get selling them at a garage sale or to a used CD store, too.) You’ll de-clutter and make some cash!

  3. I’m on my way over to borrow some CDs. thanks.

  4. I’ve got a 16GB iPod Touch, the SO has the 32GB model. I’ve got about 3GB left on mine. I’ll probably trade it out in a year or two. The headphone jack right channel doesn’t work but I have a set of bluetooth earphones. Only issue, turn on any radio in the iPod Touch and you can just watch the battery drain.

  5. Impressive collection. I used to have a small iPod and have to select songs from each CD to burn. I don’t look forward to go back and reburn all the missed songs.

  6. The first time I read MAXiPod, I read it as MAXI-Pod.
