Drowsy and bored at work on Friday afternoon. Can you tell I just put lip balm on?

So far I’m doing ok on my New Year’s Resolutions. I have paid off all my credit card debt. I actually don’t think I have any outstanding debt (other than car payments) which is ultra cool. And I’m getting my piano tuned today. Here is a pic of him in action:

As you can plainly see– he is NOT hot. So absolutely NO chance of hot-piano-tuner-bending-me-over-and-fucking-the-brahms-out-of-me today. (Oh, and in case you were wondering… tuners are never hot).

And as far as the weight loss– well, I must get serious about that. I’ve been under the weather lately (I swear it was bronchitis), so its been difficult to force myself to do cardio. But here’s hoping I can get in gear.

Speaking of gears…

My first car- a 1976 Datsun 200SX. Silver with black interior. Five speed manual transmission, Clarion stereo system with kickin’ bass. It was a damn zippy little car. It was also the car in which I learned to take drive a stick (hmm, not much better the second way).

The fucked up thing about the transmission on these babies was that it was a dog-leg gear box. This means that Reverse was up and to the left (above 1st gear) which is different than most vehicles (except racecars). So I was naturally fearful of accidently shifting into Reverse from 1st gear.

I got the hang of working the stick eventually.

One thing I remember most about the car is that when my Dad first got it we would go out driving in it.  Bomb around and stuff.  On occasion, Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” would come on the radio and we would crank that bitch!  That Clarion stereo was actually decent, and the parts in the song that shifted from speaker to speaker were flippin’ awesome.

Yeah, I was gay back then too, I guess.  And my Dad isn’t… hmmm.

While in High School- I became a “Road&Track” guy. I lusted after cars– but not American cars. Nope, I was a Euroboy; I loved Lotus and Porsche and Ferrari and Lamborghini and BMW and the list goes on and on. But somewhat in my price range (or my parent’s price range) was this beauty:

This is the car that I WANTED in high school– a Renault R5 Turbo. And I still want one. The things are fucking cool– like MINIs on steroids. If you look closely, you can see that its basically a beefed up LeCar. LOVE it! The flared and vented rear fenders and fat tires are totally bitchin’!
